Tessco is committed to the health, well-being, and career development of all our team members. In support of our commitment, we have taken the following actions:
We provide training programs to ensure our team members are well informed, socially responsible, and committed corporate citizens who will support the values of the company. These programs include:
Welcome Orientation – We have subject matter experts from our team provide onboarding training to all new hires. This two-week program covers the benefits we provide, Tessco programs & policies, systems training, and team/industry overviews.
Diversity, Inclusion, & Harassment Training – This training is mandatory for all new hires with additional training provided to all team leaders. Mandatory on-going training is given to all team members every two years.
Annual Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and Anti-bribery Training – This training ensures employees understand the negative impact of bribery and violations of these laws.
All team members are provided with a Code of Ethics and Business Conduct which they are required to understand and sign as a condition of employment.
We also provide our team members with healthcare and other wellness benefits that exceed the norms for our industry and size:
Comprehensive health, prescription, dental, and vision care insurance is offered to our team members for themselves and their immediate families. Tessco pays over 80 percent of the premiums, so our team member premiums are offered at an affordable price.
Company-paid life insurance coverage at 1x annual base pay.
Company-paid accidental death and dismemberment insurance at 1x base pay.
Reasonably priced, 13-week, short term disability and company-paid long term disability insurance if the team member is out for more than 13 weeks.
Access to financial wellness solutions.
Company-paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available to all team members and their dependents for resources and referrals to address challenges related to work, family, health, and everyday living.
We offer other benefits for the education and welfare of our team members, including:
$5,250 annual tuition reimbursement for those interested in college or post-graduate education related to a team member’s job function.
Parental leave following the birth of a child or the placement of a child with a team member in connection with adoption or long-term foster care in addition to any accumulated paid time off.
Paid bereavement leave.
Wages of no less than $14 per hour for every position at Tessco.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan which enables team members to acquire equity ownership in the company at a discount.
A 401(k) plan for all team members that includes a company match of 50 percent of up to five percent of team member deferrals.
Tessco provides team members with paid time off (PTO) for celebration of religious and cultural holidays not otherwise designated as a paid “holiday” at Tessco.
Tessco provides opportunities for community volunteer activities. Tessco volunteers are paid their full salary while working on a community project.
Tessco supports a team member-run charity committee that focuses on raising money for donations to several charities. They create great team building opportunities and a chance for all Tessco team members to work together for a cause they believe in.
In 2023, Tessco is supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), No Kid Hungry, and the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation.
Every year, Tessco does a food drive leading up to Thanksgiving and a Star Tree to help families in need in the local community during the holiday season.
